Was anyone else a Jamba Juice junkie back in the day? I still know my order by heart: small Strawberry Surf Rider with an asiago pretzel (*on the side). Those were the glory days of a miracle metabolism and hungry blonde girl’s dreams.
Unfortunately, more recently, my metabolism has been on strike. We are attempting to make amends and I think, with a little tweaking, we could have a good thing going soon. My more recent changes to my diet have definitely helped, but I’m still doing a little fine-tuning and gosh dang it, I wanted a smoothie! So, that’s just what I did! I dusted off the Ninja blender hiding in my kitchen and made a smoothie that may defy the odds – a metabolism booster that’s under 200 calories, under 5 minutes to make, and only 5 ingredients.
In less time than it takes to make my fave egg-white scramble, I love that I can fill up on something that gives me the boost I need to power through the entire day. I recently ordered a superfood blend from UChoose Superfoods and I have to say, I’m OBSESSED! For 25 calories a scoop, it is so easy to incorporate a scoop or two of superfoods into my daily routine. Best of all, you can customize your superfood blend – which is something I had never really considered before reading about their product. Adding collagen or prebiotics and probiotics to your blend adds an entirely new dimension to healthy eating – all-in-one nutrition for 25-50 calories (not that the calories matter, but that’s pretty dang impressive).
Calories per serving: 152 cal
- 1 cup frozen mango chunks
- 1 scoop superfood blend of choice (UChoose is a must for me!)
- 1 cup spinach
- 3/4 cup unsweetened almond milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- *optionally* top with goji berries/shredded coconut/fresh berries
- Blend all the ingredients together! Easy peasy!
- Make it fancy. Top it off with an umbrella straw, fresh fruit, glitter etc. and voila! You’re a smoothie pro.
