Style Diaries Vol. 1: The Inside Scoop on Express

Anyone who knows me, knows I take online shopping seriously. I may not be athletic, but  you could say my ability to maneuver a sale in under 30 minutes is a sport of sorts.

Of all places I shop online, I consistently have the most success at Express. I love that Express offers enviable statement pieces while allowing you to follow the trends without breaking the bank, because as we all know, trends come and go on the daily. In fact, I rarely shop in-store at Express because I have found that you always get a better deal online. But, I think what makes online shopping an even better strategy when it comes to shopping at Express, is the range of sizes you can find on their site.

Many of their pants/denim come in petites online and even have an option for length (it’s the little things that make all the difference am I right?). Anyone who is petite has probably encountered the struggle of finding jeans that don’t have to be hemmed, but Express is an exception to the rule. As much as I love brands like 7 for all Mankind and Mother jeans, 99.9% of the time, I end up wearing my Express jeans. No, they’re not designer denim, but for $29.99 they are a lot more flattering.

Aside from their denim, they make the best workwear sets! For years, I thought I would never be able to pull off cigarette pants as someone under 5’5″, but Express gave me a miracle when they brought the world pants that are cut narrower and made with a shorter rise. Even if you don’t fall into the petite category, it is worth ordering yourself a pair because they make every cut and size imaginable.

BUT… the best part is that Express is almost always having an online sale, and often “buy one, get one 50% off” at that! Express having a sale is like 100 degree heat in Fresno – it’s basically a guarantee. Better yet, if you sign up for an account you will receive email updates about sales when they happen and start earning points for every purchase that can help you earn rewards towards future purchases. All of my college friends, don’t forget to sign up for UNiDAYS and apply your discount code at checkout too!

Over 4th of July weekend virtually everything was 50% off and  I did some major damage. Here’s what I racked up, and will be wearing all summer long!

Striped Cross Front Halter Neck Crop
Tequila Sunrise Abbreviated Muscle Tank
Off the Shoulder Gingham Smocked Bodice Top
Mid Rise Linen-Blend Columnist Ankle Pant
